Yep, there was an outcry when they took them down in April 2012 and they brought them back up three weeks later and they are still up to this very day.

Remember how they fixed the crash mode on the 360 version and you didn't have to do that stupid golf swing crap like they had on the OG Xbox release?

Apparently, according to my save file, I only played this version like 3hr, 50min.  Because I had already played the crap out of it on the Xbox.

Takedown is still the best, but of course all the older games are offline now even on PS2.

This game was free with the Alice: Madness Returns 'Online Pass'.  EA no longer charges for their online passes.  I just added it to my download queues for PS3 and 360.

You may have noticed that our new site is live, updated and running SMF 2.0.4!

More changes are in the works and will be showing up in the next couple of weeks.  Some exciting news will be dropping as well.  Please note that Tapatalk is no longer supported, however if you access the site with your phone browser you will automatically use our new mobile interface, which is very friendly for handheld devices!

If you note any issues or bugs, please share them here and I will investigate them.

The hosting provider is forcing upgrade to MySQL 5 by Wednesday of next week.  I'm trying to get the site migrated over to the new database by then but I'm having some issues.

The site may be down a couple of times over the next few days.  If that does happen, it will be back.

General Gaming Discussion / Double Fine Adventure
« on: February 09, 2012, 12:32:04 PM »

Tim Schafer and Double Fine have raised 700k in less than 24 hours, to fund development of a new point and click adventure game.

Kickstarter records are being broken.

I threw $15 their way.  Given that the money is coming in so fast, it seems like the Mac and IOS versions are pretty much guaranteed.

Microsoft Console Gaming / Trials Evolution (XBLA) - WOW!!!
« on: February 02, 2012, 11:31:27 AM »

Holy cow.  Multiplayer, global sharing of user-created content...content that goes WAY beyond what you would expect in a Trials game.

Watch the trailer.  Watch the WHOLE THING.

Little Big Planet got pwn3d.

So, basically, system gets an $80 price cut.  Anybody who buys a system before the price cut gets 10 NES games and 10 GBA games.

Personally, I'd rather they gave me the next 5 "3D Classics".

Microsoft Console Gaming / Trenched
« on: June 20, 2011, 01:02:22 PM »
Review is up:

Like Costume Quest and Stacked before it, Trenched is one of those downloadable games that almost makes you feel like you're getting away with robbery for paying $15 for it rather than full retail price. This is obviously not a quickie release; top to bottom, it's polished and slathered with personality. It has quickly become my current favorite multiplayer experience on Live and is definitely my favorite tower defense game to date. My only wish is for more missions, parts and weapons, but the core experience is robust enough to come highly recommended. It's another win for Double Fine in downloadable games.

Watched Dave play this at PAX.  It looks great.

Lots of people on the internets are digging this game.  And hey, it's 75% cheaper than Brink.

Any impressions by members?

Epic fail.

We're talking passwords, birthdays, security words, and possibly credit card info.

Android folk, make sure and install the Amazon App Store.  You get a free paid app every day.  I'm already rocking Angry Birds Rio and Doodle Jump...

General Gaming Discussion / Armored Core V (is kind of Chromehounds 2?)
« on: February 02, 2011, 11:04:14 AM »
Teh internets are abuzz about how the new Armored Core game sounds a lot like a Chromehounds sequel.

The big change for the new evolved Armored Core is in online play. Past Armored Core games have had online battle "modes." Armored Core V does away with the distinction of a "mode," and makes it so that players can "smoothly" take part in online play.

The basic framework of creating your own mech and taking on missions remains unchanged, but the game is now team based. Players form teams consisting of a fixed set of members. You take on missions exclusively with players pulled from this team.

Missions are played with up to five members from your team. Of the five, only four drop down to the battle field. The fifth player stays back as an operator, giving guidance to the team. The operator has a special screen which seems to show more detail about the battle.

Sony Console Gaming / The PS3 is the new Xbox

That is, as far as having a softmod available to make it a state-of-the-art settop box for emulation and media player functionality.

Install that firmware (on a 3.55 system, must be current 3.55) and you get an 'install package files' option.

I've already installed the SNES emulator and an FTP server.

There will be a slew of apps released in the next few days.

I firewalled playstation.net in my router so I don't accidently connect to PSN and get banned.  It's safe to assume that they will be able to detect this firmware.

You do have the ability to revert to regular 3.55 from this firmware.

General Gaming Discussion / Dead Space 2
« on: January 06, 2011, 12:32:19 PM »
I haven't played the demo yet but I preordered DS2 for 360 from Amazon.  They sent me the code for Dead Space Ignition immediately.

I'd be tempted to get this for PC and play it in glorious 1080p, but after trying the PC version of the first game (bought from Steam last week for $6.80, wanted to replay the game before DS2) I was extremely disappointed to discover that the analog joypad controls are messed up (HUGE dead zone, you have to move the thumbstick halfway to the side before anything happens).  And of course there's no PC demo for DS2.  Sigh.
