Sony Console Gaming / Official Playstation 4 thread
« on: February 21, 2013, 10:14:11 AM »
So, here is the official (non)announcement:

Specs here:

Interesting that they didn't show the console itself, nor discuss game media format or used game capability...

Since my PS3 is covered with dust, I doubt I'll be getting a PS4, but I like the changes to the controller triggers and the Move light bar seems cool.  Not sure how that touchpad will be used or if it'll be gimickey...  Love that the controller finally has a headset port so you can ditch the BT headset fiasco.

Cloud based streaming of old PS1, 2 and 3 games.   Hmmm.  I don't know about you, but my PS3 takes foreeeeeeeevvverrr to download stuff.  Netflix is okay, but not as good as through my Sony Blu-ray player (go figure).  They better improve the network a ton if they want to stream games.

More than anything else, the 8GB of RAM is the thing that stands out.... 16x more than the PS3 or XBOX 360...

Can't wait to see what MS is gonna do to respond...

Technology / Anyone get invited to Google+ ?
« on: June 30, 2011, 10:42:14 AM »
Wondering if anyone here has been invited, and can invite me to google's new social networking attempt.  Since I'm on gmail and reader and calendar and docs, I might as well give this a try as well.

Here's engadget's take:

Oh, hell yeah.  WVU get's some respect.   I'll buy this game just to have the cover.  Woo Hoo!

Okay,  I've played through the easy mode on GHII when I borrowed it from Maggi, but that's the limit of my experience.  I've got a 360 and a PS3.  I'd love to hear some of your opinions on which game I should get (no fighting, just opinions please.).

So, should it be:

Guitar Hero II
Guitar Hero III or
Rock Band

My musical tastes are pretty average.  I'm a big Alternative Rock fan, but I also love classic rock as well (the new BOSTON songs really sound awesome for RB).  I also think that a wireless guitar would be nice, I know that GHII doesn't come with one....

Thanks in advance...

God of War: Chains of Olympus has quickly reached the number one rated psp game on Metacritic.

Can't wait till tomorrow.

I don't know much about the subject.  Could you guys make some suggestions on a good camera for taking family photos etc.  My price range is around $250.  Looking for a good mix  between portability and quality photos/colors with the emphasis towards the quality side.

General Pop Culture / Heroes. Season 1 DVD
« on: September 02, 2007, 11:13:19 PM »
Holy fucking shit.  I'm 4 episodes in and I'm hooked.   This show seriously gives BSG a run for its money.  Can't wait to get through the rest.

I didn't see a thread for this yet so I thought I'd post.  If it's old news, I'll just kill it.

Yes, LucasArts is teaming with TT games once again to put a plastic spin on a familiar franchise. The title will give gamers the chance to play through the first three Indy flicks with the plastic pieces and blocks they know and love.

Microsoft Console Gaming / Beautiful Katamari now a 360 exclusive...
« on: July 09, 2007, 08:05:55 PM »

The PS3 version of the game is missing from the latest release list in Japan's Weekly Famitsu magazine, with a footnote below the PS3 dates section stating that development has been halted on the Sony version. Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 version is still listed for a Fall 2007 release.

Multiplayer goodness...

Online, players will be able to compete in groups of four to see who can collect items as ordered by the king. This battle mode offers you some dirty tricks, allowing you to ram your katamari into opponents, shaking their objects loose.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga coming to next gen consoles

Some new levels, characters and reworked graphics are in, but the most exciting part:

In addition to all this, the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will feature an online co-op mode for the first time in the series.

Glad I never got the 360 version of LSWII.
