General Gaming Discussion / Destiny Anyone?
« on: September 05, 2014, 11:03:26 AM »
I figured what the hell...maybe I'm not the only one who checks in from time to time to see if someone actually posted something new.

Anyone getting Destiny for the PS4?  I know Jon and I are, but wasn't sure who else was.  I think raids require 6 people and they have to be on your friends list so I thought I'd ask.  Hope everyone is doing well.

Anything Goes / Happy Holidays 2013 - What did ya get

Getting on the road soon so I thought I'd get this post going in advance.  I hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday.  Let the airing of grievances begin.  ;)

I got my PS4 as part of my Christmas/birthday gifts.  More to come, but im expecting BF4, the new Pearl Jam and Eminem albums and some gift cards.  I'll report back soon.

Microsoft Console Gaming / XBOX One Impressions and Discussion

I was underwhelmed with yesterday's reveal.  If you have the time, this is a funny rant...

Sure a lot of things that people (myself included) are pissed at MS for haven't been revealed by Sony.  So the PS4 may have some of the same issues.  We'll see if any more is revealed at E3.

As of right now I'm leaning towards a PS4 even though I don't like my PS3.  I just want it to play games and don't care much for my system running 3 OS to juggle plates so I can watch tv with overlays etc.  Still reserving judgement, but I'm certainly sceptical of the new Xbox.

It's been pretty quiret around here for a while... like crickets and tumbleweed quiet.

I know TehBias is very pro BF3, but I was just wondering if anyone was planning on picking this up.  I've been spending all of my gaming time with Guild Wars 2 lately, but feeling like playing a shooter so I'm probably getting it.

I hope everyone is doing well.  :-)

Anyone besides Jon and I getting this one?  I pre-purchased yesterday.

General Gaming Discussion / EA Sports Online Pass
« on: September 08, 2011, 04:09:24 PM »
So EA sucks as we've already established.  I bought a used copy of Madden and need to pay another $10 if I want to play online b/c EA doesn't already have enough money.  I knew this in advance and may buy it, but thought I'd come here and see if anyone knew where I could get an online pass/code for free.  Thanks in advance.

General Gaming Discussion / Homefront
« on: November 22, 2010, 03:39:18 PM »
I hadn't heard about this game before, but it looks/sounds pretty cool.  A nice, different concept for the FPS genre.

The year is 2027. The world has suffered a decade-long energy crisis, and economies have crumbled. Reduced to a mere shadow of the super power it once was, the United States became the target of a North Korean takeover. American malls, suburbs and city streets are now battlegrounds as the civilian resistance fights for freedom. Featuring a compelling single player story crafted by John Milius (Apocalypse Now, Red Dawn),  Homefront immerses gamers in an interactive and cinematic FPS experience where they will assume an infantry role or take command of a wide variety of aerial and ground vehicles. In addition to the single-player experience, Homefront will deliver a robust multiplayer experience. In a land stripped of freedom, the brave will fight for their home.

Multiplayer info video...  sounds pretty sick.

This morning, Los Angeles-based SEE Virtual Worlds announced it will publish a Michael Jackson-themed MMOG, Planet Michael, based on the works of the late singer.

Sony Console Gaming / MAG - Massive Action Game
« on: February 03, 2010, 09:49:57 AM »

Any of our resident FPS veterans try this yet?  It sounds like it could be really awesome or really friggin' annoying...  I'd be interested in a rental at least.

Technology / Best Photo Printer for iMacs???
« on: December 18, 2009, 02:31:23 PM »
So I got my wife an iMac about a month or so ago and she was really excited about all the fun picture/music/video etc. stuff she could do on it.  However, as she started printing photos she cannot get them to look good.  The resolution just ins't what it should be.  We have an HP Photosmart printer that produced great pictures when hooked up to her old PC.

Is there a recommended photo printer that works better with Macs.  Our resident Mac nerd at work said "that's just a downside of Macs", but I refuse to believe that a system that markets itself the way Macs do would not have the ability to produce stunning photos.

Please help.... I'm looking for a last minute Christmas present for Jackie.

PC Gaming / Star Trek Online
« on: December 13, 2009, 06:59:22 PM »

Is this on anybody's radar?  I just pre-ordered it as part of a Christmas/birthday present from my wife and will be able to join in the open beta on 1/12/10 and also get a two day head start on 1/29/09 before the game goes live on 2/2/10.

Hopefully this will be entertaining enough to keep me busy until Star Wars "The Old Republic" comes out in a year.
