Last Movie You Saw at the Theatre
« on: August 12, 2006, 01:54:38 AM »

I know I usually start a new topic everytime I see a movie, which I know is a lot, but I just though maybe one thread for all the movies anyone sees would be neater.  Just an idea.

Anyways, I just came back from seeing The Descent.  This was one of the creepiest/freakiest horror movies I've seen in a while.  It's probably the second best I've seen this year in the theatre after Hills Have Eyes.   This movie had cool make up f/x and loads of gore.  The ending was a little rushed but otherwise the rest of the movie was paced out well.   Anyone who likes horror movies should definately check this one out.

Definitely a good idea, Sean  :D

Yesterday, Jeremy & I went to see "World Trade Centre". It was a very good movie! I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Nicolas Cage isn't one of my favourite actors but he was quite good in this movie. I wouldn't say it's Oliver Stone's best movies but I would definitely recommend it to people.

One thing I really liked about it was how it was all pieced together and flowed really well; I know Oliver Stone's movies sometimes have tendancy to jump all over the place. "World Trade Centre" wasn't like that at all.

I'm curious to see as to how well this movie will do in the theatres this weekend, considering it wasn't overly busy when Jeremy and I were at the theatre yesterday. That could have been because we went to a 3:45 show on a Friday afternoon though.

I saw 45 minutes of Cars, before Chloe decided she wanted to go home. Of course, she'd already seen it. Tell me, does Lightning McQueen learn a valuable lesson about friendship and trust?

I thought WTC was enjoyable but certainly not one I need to see again.  There is no political controversy in it and only a brief line eluding to the terrorism aspect near the end.  As Mary said, it doesn't jump around (aside from flashback scenes) and there is nothing complicated about the story.  It simply focuses on the ordeal that two men went through being trapped in the rubble between the two towers.  It's not going offend anyone and is essentially a movie to make people feel good.

The movie all of us internet geeks have been waiting all year for has finally been released.  Of course the movie I speak of is Motherf'n Snakes on a Motherf'n Plane starring the coolest man on the planet Samuel L. Jackson.  This movie gives you exactly what you expect.  Cheesy dialogue, acting and f/x? Check?  Gore? Check?  Boobies?  Check.  It takes about 40 minutes for the snake action to start as they have to establish the "story".  But once it starts, it never stops.

Jackson was awesome as usual.  Dave "Champ Kind" Koechner was awesome as one of the co-pilots.  He had some of the best lines of the movie.

As cool as the movie is (if you like these movies), the best part was being in a full crowd full of people who were way into the movie.  I knew it was a good crowd when everyone went nuts for the Borat trailer.  If you can see this in the near future when the crowds are good, I highly suggest you do it.  The place exploded when the most famous line of the movie was uttered.

I have to see it now!  Samuel Jackson is the man!   Now we should combine snakes with spiders and sign on William Shatner,it would be awesome!  Kingdom of the spiders/snakes on a plane!

I saw The Ant Bully a week or two ago with the kids.  Very good movie and fun enough for the parents to sit through.

Went and saw Beerfest yesterday.  While it's no Super Troopers, it was still better than Club Dread.  Sure it was tasteless and offensive, but what else would you expect from these guys and a movie about not much else but drinking beer.  It was funny as hell though and if you like this type of movie, you should definately check it out.  Stay through the credits though if you love those blooper reels that people include in them sometimes.

Plenty, but there's one scene in particular that is teeming with boobage.
