We say Little Miss Sunshine last night and it was really funny.  Highly recommended, best movie I saw in the theater this summer.

Went and saw Crank today.  While it certainly was not one up Jason Statham's better movies, it certainly gives you what it advertises:  a man who's going on one last rampage to get revenge against those who poisoned him.  While it wasn't as good as Falling Down, it was still a fun movie and good escapism.

Went and saw The Protector today starring Ong Bak's Tony Jaa.  This movie was absolutely insane.  The story was about as weak as I expected but the stunts and the fight scenes were unbelievable and definately a step above Ong Bak, which I enjoyed as well.  I cannot believe the stuff they are able to pull off without CGI and wires.  There's even a surprise cameo in this.

Jet Li couldn't have picked a better time to retire from doing martial arts epics as I believe Tony Jaa is set to take over the throne.

You see more movies than any other human being I know. I'm not even sure many movie critics see more!

What can I say...next to video games, movies are a big passion of mine.   :)

Enjoy it while you can Sean.  When a spouse and children enter the picture priorities tend to change.  Not necessarily in a bad way, but they change none the less.

That's exactly what I'm doing.  Not just with going to the movies, but videogames too.   Not that I view marriage or kids as a hinderance, just a different stage of life is all.  :)

Guess what?  I just saw another movie.  :)  Just got back from seeing Jackass Number Two.  I didn't think they could top the last one but they found many, many ways to do so.  They really pushed the envelope with this one not just tastefully but legally.
One stunt in particular had to be partially censored
.  Although I liked this one better than the first overall, I liked the opening and closing of the first one better.  The full theatre really enhanced the experience though as everyone was cheering, clapping and "ohhh"ing at the same time.

One really cool thing that happened was after the Transformers trailer was shown, most of the theatre erupted in applause.  I was so glad I wasn't the only one.   ;D

Was it the same trailer they have had on their website for months, or a new one??

I'll wait to catch Jackass 2 when the uncensored DVD version is out...

It was the same Transformers teaser that has been on the net but it was the first time I think I've seen it in the theatres.  I don't really think there will be an uncensored DVD of Jackass as the only thing censored in the whole movie was something that could be considered illegal.  I don't think they could uncensor it on DVD.

I saw Jet Li's Fearless today.  This movie was rather bittersweet.  It was a fantastic, awesome movie, but it is also Jet Li's last martial arts epic.  I think he's probably retiring too early as he still has it but I guess he feels he's at a point where he wants to retire.  I read in an interview this week that he broke 6 or 7 bones filming this movie.  Perhaps he is tired of that.

This movie had everything you could hope for in a movie like this: awesome fight scenes, a decent script and great music.  Anyone who likes these types of movies should definately go and see it.

Saw Jackass #2 this weekend. My own opinion is that #2 was more disgusting and less creative than the first one. That being said, my overall enjoyment of it was just as much as the first one.   ;D What can I say...I'm still freaking 12 years old!

My two word synopsis: "man ass"

I went and saw two movies yesterday.  The first one was The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.  For anyone who doesn't know, this is a prequel to the remake they did a few years ago but I actually enjoyed it more than the remake.  It wasn't a great movie and it definately pushed the limits on gore but I did find it entertaining overall.

The other movie was The Departed.  While I did enjoy the movie, I found it ran a little longer than it really needed to.  The performances were all as good as could have been expected.  It had a great blend of drama and humour.  Alec Baldwin was definately one of the high points of the movie.  The ending was interesting to say the least.

Jeremy and I went to see "Jackass 2" on Friday night. Awesome movie! I liked it nearly just as much as the original. How all those guys, especially Johnny Knoxville, are still alive amazes me.  ;)
