ONLINE PSP Sports titles at launch

It appears that, at a minimum, the following titles will be playable over the internet at launch:

Gretzky NHL - 989 Sports / Page44 Studios
NBA - 989 Sports / 989 Sports
MLB - 989 Sports / 989 Sports

Wow.  Here's hoping for more games to be announced.

I have not been particularly impressed with any 989 sports titles in recent years.  This doesn't change my intention to wait for a bundle-free unit and a sub $200 price.  Good to know that it does exist however.

I think we'll see more announcements shortly, possibly even EA titles.  I'm most interested in Wipeout, though.

Two more Sony-published titles online:

ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin' Trails
Twisted Metal: Head-On

Sorry, Bryan, Tiger Woods (or any effing EA game) is NOT online in infrastructure mode, only ad-hoc. :'(

EA fesses up

Quote
Unfortunately, there are no PSP titles at this time that support any online play. There has been a misprint on all of the boxes for our launch titles and this mode is not supported. Although Infrastructure mode is not supported, the Ad Hoc multiplayer mode will work on all of our launch titles provided that each player has their own copy of the game.

Why do I think this was not an innocent slip-up?

Namco also made the 'mistake' with Ridge Racers.   This box labeling is turning out to be as bad as the first couple of years of Xbox packaging (480p, widescreen, etc).

Minna No Golf (Hot Shots Golf) isn't infrastructure in Japan, so it probably won't be here.   I'll be up for some games via tunnelling, though.
