Gametap works on (Intel) Macs now, but the Windows-specific titles (Tomb Raider, Sam and Max, etc) are not yet supported by the emulation.  I think the classic, console, and DOS titles are supported but I haven't checked it out myself.

Also, it is worth noting that the free, ad-supported tier of Gametap actually has some good titles.

Here's what's new (and coming soon) on the Gametap front! (In no way exhaustive)

New Games
Just Cause
Overlord (yes, the just released one)

Coming Soon
Battlestations Midway
Combat Mission Beyond Overlord
Commandos Strike Force
Daikatana (make fun of John Romero all over again!)
Infernal
Clive Barker's Jericho
Thief Deadly Shadows
American McGee's GRIMM (24 episode action adventure, which is
a Gametap exclusive)

Gametap really does just keep getting better and better. Anyone who still hasn't tried it out, they now have a system like the Silver/Gold memberships from LIVE. A Gold membership is a paid one that grants access to the entire library (900+ games). A silver membership (I think it's called LITE) grants access to around 30 or so games, and they change each month. But it's FREE. Great way to check out the service.

Also worth noting you can have up to SIX accounts on each membership. They actually encourage it.

The $60 per year deal for GameTap is back.  Also, if you let your account renew and were already in the $60 plan, you will get the same deal for your second year.  I'll probably let mine renew, the service is only getting better plus Sam & Max Season Two is on the way.

Toca Race Driver 3
Typing of the Dead
and as mentioned: Sam & Max Season 2

Gametap keeps delivering. About a month ago I almost picked up Civilization IV at retail, but decided against it.

It just showed up today on Gametap. It wasn't even on the coming soon list.

Sweet.   :)

I logged on to STEAM (Valve's digital delivery service) today, and they're offering the 'Eidos Holiday Pack', which is:

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, Just Cause, Tomb Raider Anniversary, Project Snowblind, Infernal, & Rogue Trooper -  all for $89.99

Wow...you can get ALL of those as part of your subscription to Gametap. (Kane & Lynch listed as coming soon, but all others are currently available)

The first ep of American McGee's Grimm is out today, anybody play it?

I can't play it until I put an XP partition back on my system.  Gametap doesn't like Vista 64-bit, even though most of the games on their service would have no problem with it.

Not yet, but I'll probably be checking it out later this evening.

Lemme know if it has joypad support.  I haven't seen that bit of info anywhere.

It does have joypad support. However, there is no option to invert the Y axis. Not for either the mouse or the gamepad. And it's opposite what I want.

American McGee worked on freakin' Quake, and he doesn't have axis inversion in this game. Now, to be fair, the look-up down doesn't seem to be a huge thing thats used, but the fact that you can't invert it really bugs me. Could be the easiest thing in the programming world to allow for.

Ehhh....anyways, just a quick post about the gamepad...I'll post more thoughts on the game later.

BTW - new games on the "Coming Soon" list for Gametap:

Puzzle Quest (I know most people here have played it, but this is a NICE addition to the catalog)
Prince of Persia: Two Thrones

After playing a bit, I now see that the practical use of look up-down is almost none in the game [American McGee's GRIMM]. So, in principle, I'm still upset that there is no way to reverse it, but the reality is that it probably won't affect the game at all.

Gameplay seems very simplistic (not in a bad way). Almost feels Katamari-ish. All you do is run around the town, turning everything from clean to stinky (seriously). That's about it. However, it's more fun than it sounds. An accurate description of Katamari is "you just roll around an pick up stuff". It's accurate, but doesn't convey the quirky fun of it. Same here. It's kinda cool to see everything you run by turn "stinky".

I don't think it's worth a purchase on the outside world...but being free as part of the Gametap library, it's quite good.

That's a bummer about the inversion.  I'm running some maintenance stuff on my PC and won't get to try the game tonight.  I'll definitely play this weekend.

I wonder if there's a way to invert at the driver/software level in Pinnacle GP or some other solution.

Yeah, pinnacle should be able to take care of that.
