I replaced four electrical outlets. Since my wife didn't look at the outlet covers she chose and realized they wouldn't fit the outlets she purchased, I also had to go to Home Depot.*

* This trip may not have occurred today. I may have replaced one of the outlets weeks ago and just got around to the other three. It's also possible that there is at least one outlet that still needs replacing, but I didn't purchase enough of the correct covers and will have to go back to Home Depot at some other point in the not-too-distant future. In other words, I think I acted exactly like a man.

Changed a flat tire. I'm glad it was in my driveway and on a (relatively) level surface. Now I get to buy 3 new tires (spare was looking pretty sad, too)!

I have spent the past four months rebuilding my deck, and today I finally finished it!

(it's a panorama, though it would be cool if it were curved like that)

The deck boards and railings are all new; the balusters and posts are from the original deck, but repainted. It evolved from what I conceived as a simple and clever fix into a full rebuild. If I had known what a task it would become, I might never have started it (or at least paid someone else to do it). Still, it was a great learning experience, and I got a bunch of new tools out of it. And a happy wife.
