I've never played Diablo.

Is it a PC dungeon crawler type game?

In response to the news my wife and I have re-installed and rolled new characters.  I've also been playing on the side with the assassin class, one I never played much.

I feel badly for treating my mouse the way that Diablo requires, but it's been fun.

Diablo has destroyed more mice, relationships, and academic statuses then most know.

Titan Quest and the expansion are now dirt cheap.  If you liked Diablo (and own a PC as I don't think there's a Mac client for TQ) just buy TQ.  You'll like it.  It's been proven by SCIENCE.

i have already re-rolled a 2nd character in d2. another barbarian. currently lv 24 with axe-mastery out the rump (20). i'm in the jungle area now. i honestly can't recall if i've ever been further than in the game than this before. the weird thing is that the game hasn't spit up any set items for me yet during my travels.

Don't even play the original, though it did make me install it to use the expansion.  The expansion doesn't just add a new act, it adds several enhancements and fixes, that everyone should have.

Don't have a PC?  Get a cheap copy of XP and put bootcamp on that Mac, and play Titan Quest, stat!  This game is epic, beautiful, and extremely addictive.  I'd rather play it than DII.

Twenty bucks.  Cheaper than the Diablo 2 Battlechest.

I've been playing Diablo II occasionally for a while, and love it.  At the pace I'm going, I might be finished by the time D III arrives.

One thing I wish I could do, though, is play it in an 800 x 600 window, rather than having it full screen and slightly fuzzy.

On PC, if you add "-w"  (without the quotes) to the end of the target in the shortcut, it will play in a window. However, you sacrifice the 3d-ish perspective view of fullscreen. It will be generic isometric. (still looks good)

I bought one on ebay for $14.99, shipped. (Titan Quest + Expansion)

i am playing it just fine on my mac. no special installs, etc. i am on a brand new 24" imac dual core 2.8ghz processor with 2 gigs of ram. i was worried about the intel macs and the install because it's designed for the motorola g# series processors. but blizzard has a special installer you can get that runs it perfectly!

now that ferris is napping, i'm going to get to my treasure-hunting. hopefully i can find some socketed war axes today.

The issue with recent Macs and Diablo isn't the CPU, it's the GPU.  If you upgraded to the Nvidia 8xxx (something you'll probably want for Diablo 3), the 256-color modes with many hardware configurations were dropped in the last few OS revisions and that broke the Diablo games.  Hopefully they fix it soon.
