Do you still play the Wii?
« on: January 05, 2009, 12:54:39 PM »

The question says it all.  I'll admit mine gathers dust these days.  I just don't think they are that interested in releasing games "for me".  Mario Galaxy was the last title that really interested me and that was 14 months ago.  Mario Kart was OK, but like Animal Crossing I have tired of them releasing the same game over and over.

I guess when stuff like Wii Fit sells millions they don't really need gamers like me.

Liam is the main Wii player at our house.  I fire it up for MLB Power Pros a few times a month.

I would say that it gets played 4-5 days a week, mostly Super Smash Bros. Brawl, de Blob and one or two others.

I have to admit, it was languishing until I picked up World of Goo.  That's really captivated me.

No, but that means I'm behind and have no excuse.  World of Goo and SMG are both barely started.  No More Heroes sits on the shelf unopened, I want to try the strongbad game…

I confess after the first couple of months my Wii has become a large paperweight.

It will occasionally get turned on for Wii Sports when I've got kids over, but that usually doesn't last long and then we are on to Rock Band.

I do use the Wii-Fit every day so I guess that counts for something....

I just have too many quality games to play on the 360.

Chloe and I play the Wii all the time, but I'd say we just dabble with it. A little Animal Crossing, some Mario Tennis, Wii fit, etc. We play more GameCube games than anything else, it seems. For the hardcore gamer, it's a joke, and even for the Nintendo faithful it doesn't get much fanservice. But I could certainly fill the time I devote to gaming with unplayed Wii titles. It's less neglected than my PS3.

I don't play too much. I think my son plays it quite a bit when I am not home, though.

I'm going to break out RE4 and finish it before RE5 comes out in March. Does that count?

Free Wii donations accepted here.  :D

Wee want one, but can't afford it right now.  Later this year we'll probably look at it as a joint gift for the kidlets.  I'm really itching to try the Zelda game...I'm a big fan of the series.  Deb wants Mario Kart--I had to pry her off of that game at the last store we visited...

Jeremy and I will probably buy a Wii once be get a new place (we're probably going to be buying a house sometime very soon). I know we'll get Mario Kart for sure and maybe a couple other games right when we buy it (I would like Wii Fit and Animal Crossing).

One Wii game that I'm definitely looking forward to is House of the Dead: Overkill.

The worst thing about being a sporadic Wii gamer is the damned Wiimotes eat your batteries 24/7.  Every time I go a few months without playing the batteries are toast.

I'm starting to take the batteries out of the remotes when I know they won't get used fora while.

My Wii sat for months without much use.  I managed to finish up Metroid Prime 3 over the summer while Cordy was napping then it just sat.  Jo was usually to busy with work to play, then I went back to work and just ran out of free time.

I did take my Wii on our Christmas trip up to my parents houses.  It got a lot of use there but only with Wii Sports.  When we got back and discovered World of Goo (thanks secret Santa!) Jo got hooked.

I still have a backlog of games to play on the Wii.

I have a wii and I don't play it. It just keeps my 360 company. I like gaming on the 360 much better. I think that the Wii is definately a party console. It is fun to have when you are having a party and have lots of people over to play party games with. I liked playing bowling alot but that got old quick when you play by yourself.  I will remain faithful to my big and bad elite 360!   :D
