'Diablo' game from Diablo creators and Diablo composer.  Hmm.

<off to play demo>

OK, this game rocks.  And for $20, even though it's single player only, probably a steal.

Only reason I'm not buying yet is my limited time and the fact that MW2 comes out in 2 days (heck, I haven't finished Borderlands).  Will come back to this.

I highly recommend checking out the free demo on Steam.

I've been playing this one since release and I'm loving it.  It's like Diablo 1.5.

I have many good things to say about this game.  No multiplayer is a drawback (my wife would love to play this one with me) but it's one of very few.

Ouch. I was hoping it was more like Diablo 2.5     Wink

Played the demo - I'm waffling on whether or not to pick it up. It looks really good and plays really well - I think co-op would have put me over the fence. Although $19.99 is a great price and if I grab it through Steam then I can play it on any PC I want.

I dunno. Maybe soon.

I'd be shocked if we didn't see 50% off on Steam for Torchlight before Christmas.

I think that's what I'm waiting for.  I'd love to pick it up, but I know the second I do it'll be on sale.

There's no way that would happen. You should try it and see.

I downloaded the demo the other night.  Hopefully I'll get a chance to play it soon.

After playing the demo for an hour, this is totally the game I need to fill the Diablo/Titan Quest sized void in my heart.

The game definitely looks tempting.  There seems to be a lot of complaints on the forums though about class balance and poor skill trees.  Maybe I'll wait awhile and see if those get ironed out.

One nice thing is you can carry over your character from the demo to the full game.

I would imagine there are balancing issues to be discovered and addressed as with any game of this type.  Blizzard has certainly rebalanced all of their games over time.

I wonder if the free Torchlight MMO will actually make it out in a couple of years as they are hoping.

Torchlight is a pretty good game for the price. It's a nice throwback to games that are more of an adventure than one where you have to be able to use all 10 fingers to keep your charactor alive (if you know what I mean)

It's rooted in Diablo and Sacred, and it really has nothing that really distinquishes it or makes it soar into a "Hall of Fame" game catagory, but if you feel like sitting at your laptop, exploring some caves and bashing the heck out of minions, it's a great game. The boss charactors are not that difficult, and the drops are fair, but not too frequent.

The "Enchanting" feature can be REALLY annoying, as you can, for cash, have this dude add enhancements to your equipment, but you run the risk of having "Something go wrong" and accidently have all of the items enhancements removed! This really sucks if you have a great piece of gear and you spend your hard earned dollars on an enhancement chance, only to see the thing laid to waste!

Again, if you're into the real high-tech games of today this game will bore the crap out of you. If you're an old timer, a gamer veteran who just wants to kill some time or escape reality for a few hours - this is a good diversion.
