If I can recall any similarities between the nights our group played Resistance last week and yesterday, it was that the 5th person to join was the one having problems.  Not sure if that's coincidence or not, of if somehow playing a deathmatch game with more than 4 people gets wacky.  Who knows?  Perhaps we can try some squad play in a larger 40 person game and see if there are any issues.

I think I had a "mysterious suicide" last night.  Sure I'll admit that there were some times when I got a little to close to my own grenade and rightfully deserved to die.  But there was another time when I somehow killed myself with my own shotgun blast.  Felt like I was playing Worms.   :D

I think you may have a point there.  I noticed that too.

My problem last week seemed to be linked to not readying up with the square button before the match started.  Maybe that was just coincidence though.  Hopefully we'll see a fix soon as this game is da bomb.

So I finally tried out some Resistance Deathmatches, and got absolutely hooked on them. Played for about 4 hours last night, and had a blast. Even after I beat the single-player mode, I can see myself playing the multi a long, long time.

Although I must be doing something wrong with the H350 I got yesterday, because even though my PS3 recognized it, and I could set the volume, etc., once I got into Resistance and into a game, I couldn't hear anything out of it, and couldn't figure out how to say anything. What am I missing?

In Resistance you have to hold down the left (or is it right?) analog stick to talk, but you should have been able to hear others just fine.  Other than power cycling your PS3 and re-syncing the headset I'm not sure what the problem would be.  Everyone else could have been in a party though, and then they only can talk with each other.

Ah, is that what those brackets are before the player name are? So is there any way to get into a party when I'm just teaming up with random folks?

I'm pretty sure the brackets next to the name are for being in a Clan and not for being in a party but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the games last night Sean and Matt.  The voice chat issues we were all having were making the game a lot less fun than it has been for us in the past.  I hope this next update will fix things.  And I want to apologize for my first attempt at hosting a party when it was just us 3.  I thought it would be fun to pick a deathmatch room becuase it had a Pig in its title and we were playing with a Mr Pig.  Then found out the hardway that it was full of teens and set to melee only.  The combination of the high pitch voice cursing and the static/feedback issues we were having with the bluetooth was just too much for me so I bailed on the game.  And then was sorry I never got the chance to explain to you guys why I did so, so figured I'd follow up here.

No worries man.  Thanks for hosting.  It's not always easy to find a good game to join.  The voice issues were pretty annoying and I hope they do fix them soon.  I'm starting to wonder, again, if Bluetooth was the right way to go for Sony.

Resistance was good fun last night but it took me several rounds to get back into it.  I finally started getting some kills towards the end there.  As for the voice issue, when I joined the LCVG group before Sean got there the background noise wasnít there.  As soon as Sean joined I heard it again as did the rest of the room.  Phil (the room leader) said he muted you and it went away.  Then later I heard you say the Ducks won and the noise wasnít there.  Fucking weird.  Maybe Seanís headset is evil.  Whatever the cause, hopefully this will get fixed soon.

Manchester Cathedral is not happy about its depiction in Resistance.

Quote
The popular new PlayStation 3 game, "Resistance: Fall of Man," shows a virtual shootout between rival gunmen with hundreds of people killed inside the cathedral. Church officials described Sony's alleged use of the building as "sick" and sacrilegious.

Quote
A spokesman for the Church of England said a letter would be sent to Sony on Monday, and that if the church's request for an apology and withdrawal of the game was not met it would consider legal action.

Quote
But David Wilson, a Sony spokesman, told The London Times: "It is game-created footage, it is not video or photography. It is entertainment, like Doctor Who or any other science fiction. It is not based on reality at all. Throughout the whole process we have sought permission where necessary."

Maybe Jack Thompson will get onboard for this one as well.

Gee, we once played multi-player games on the PS3?

Four minutes of Resistance 3 gameplay

The graphics look pretty incredible, and there's an insane amount of dust and smoke effects.

I'm pretty sure I can count on my fingers the number of hours I've spent with PS3 online multiplayer.

KZ3 definitely interests me, especially since I just picked up a used Move bundle.

On the other hand I'll probably be banned from PSN by the time this game ships because I jailbroke my system and Sony thinks I'm naughty.
