A & E's INTERVENTION features a Gaming Addict
« on: May 02, 2005, 01:03:41 PM »

Has anyone seen this show?  The last episode highlighted an addictive gamer.
I have yet to watch it, but I caught a few minutes of this nut playing some blurred
out Xbox game..  Is this bad publicity for MS?  This guy seemed really lost..
I mean out there.  It looked kind of interesting though.
I got it on DVR and I will be watching tonight.
If I get a chance I'll post some thoughts.

Here is the description: The virtual world has an iron grip on Peter, a 21-year-old college graduate who is a masterful video gamer. But he has sacrificed his real life in order to his digital passion. Peter is aware that his grasp on reality is steadily declining, but he needs help. Next, see how compulsive eating has left Renee, a young mother, unable to hold a job or keep friends. Her husband is hoping that intervention will let Renee and her family have the life they deserve.

Here is the link to buy the DVD of the episode: (though I am sure they will replay it at some point) http://store.aetv.com/html/product/index.jhtml?id=72882&browseCategoryId=&location=&parentcatid=&subcatid=
