I picked up a teal Nintendogs bundle today, kinda pissed I didn't get the metroid demo and it has what looks like 2 dead pixels  >:(
Nintendo has a great dead pixel policy.  Call them right up and they'll make it right.

Going to try and bully Gamestop into giving me a replacement first, I went at it with them over the phone already and eventually they said they'd swap it, we'll see what happens when I take it back tomorrow though.

This was my first experience with a DS, aside from the pixel thing I like it, Nintendogs is alright too considering I only bought the bundle to get the teal color. I like the way it uses the microphone.

Does anyone know where I can get the pink DS without spending a load on it?  I've looked on Lik Sang and Play Asia already.  I just can't bring myself to pay almost $200 for it...

$129 (+ shipping) at winsunx.com

I've used the site before and recommend them.

Japan Charts: DS dominates with eight top ten places

Hard to believe now, but remember when we were skeptical of how well the DS would do? Even Nintendo was hedging their bets. And get a load of those 360 numbers. The GameCube is outselling it.

I remember when I was skeptical if I would even like it. When DS came out, a buddy and I discussed it and I poo-pooed the stylus idea as gimmicky and a kids unit compared to PSP. We both bought PSPs (my wife got one as well). That didn't last too long. Luckily I was able to trade in my PSP and 2 games at a time when the exchange got me a new DS and 2 games for no more money out-of-pocket. My buddy sold his PSP and my wife's gathers dust now.

PSP is beautiful and capable of better graphics. Too bad the majority of games are just meh. DS rocks.

I was in the same boat. I think it may be one of the coolest systems-handheld or otherwise-that I've owned. I can't believe I waited so long to get one.

Gamecube? The GBA is even outselling it. Granted that probably includes Micro sales, but still. All that and I have yet to see a 360 sitting on a shelf in any store here in the US, while they seem to be paperweights over there.

Nintendo dismisses rumours of DS redesign

I very nearly traded in my DS this weekend in anticipation of the redesign. EB/GS is offering a disappointing $50, so I decided to wait for the inevitable trade-in deal. Good thing, although Nintendo's typical "rumor and speculation" dismissal indicates it's coming at some point. If they can get the form down so that the bottom half is the size of the top screen, the handheld wars are over.

Where would the dpad and buttons go?   I must be confused.

I meant that the new DS would be the size of two top screens attached together.

Draw me a pitcher!  :)

I can see making it thinner (especially if they drop the GBA slot, though I don't think I'd like that).   I wouldn't want the screens to get smaller, due to the stylus interface.   There still has to be room to the sides for the controls, so how can the width be reduced substantially?

Sorry, not the size of the "screens." Imagine the DS as if it had the two current upper-halves sandwiched together, rather than the bulkier lower half.

Found out today that GameRush is giving $65 in credit for a DS if you decide to trade it.
