Just replaced my busted CycloDS with an AceKard 2i.

Great card so far, and the price cant be beat. 13$ shipped from DealXtreme.

Works on All DSes, including the DSi.

Does anyone know if the DSiXL has placed any restrictions on flashcards?

I bought a DSi XL for myself.  There is supposedly no difference between DSi and XL flashcard compatibility.

I got the latest gen R4DS (R4DS DSHC RTS).  It works great on the DSi XL except most games do not pause when the lid is closed, the whole system shuts down.

Has anyone else had lid/pause issues with newer cards and DSi/XL systems?

My nephew has the XL. I thought it was sort of obnoxious. LOL

In other news:

Dragon Quest 9 is awesome.

Nintendo 3DS software lineup

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/wPCsFAmIxCM" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/wPCsFAmIxCM</a>

Some of the games look like they'll be pretty incredible when played in 3D.

The 3DS launches in Feb in Japan for about $298 American. That's about $100 more than I hoped it would be :(

For the tech that's inside, that might be a reasonable price. But, damn, handheld gaming is now on par with console prices. I've been reading about the PSP2 and it's got some ridiculous specs as well. The best portable gaming deal right now is probably a Touch or iPhone.

No way.  Far too expensive for a gimmick.

Gimmick maybe a bit harsh, but that is a price tag that will keep me from a preorder.

My goodness, couldn't I get a used PS3 and a game or two for that amount?

I meant the 3D part, full love for the DS platform.

People also called "two screens" a gimmick. I have every confidence Nintendo will utilize the platform and tech in unique ways. It is expensive, but not really out of line. I rarely play my DS these days, so I'm not looking to be an early adopter, but I'll probably get one for Chloe's birthday in September.

I think 3D is a gimmick, or fad in itself.  I would never buy a 3D television either.

I honestly have more faith in the DS platform than I do the Wii. All of the games I have played and enjoyed on the DS have been great because of the DS and the touch screen technology. Wii games have always felt like the programmers developed a game and tried to figure out how to implement the motion control after the fact. I'm not sure I have played a Wii title that I wouldn't have enjoyed more if it had the option to use a Wavebird.

That said, I am all at once excited and ambivalent about the 3DS. Will the games be great because of the technology or in spite of it?
