Well Iím enjoying pretty much everything about the 360 so far.  I have had a couple of problems so for though.  The first controller I tried the D pad was bad on.  Itís not sensitive at all when pressing to the left.  It works, you just really have to press it to get it to register.  Itís going to go back.

The second controller I tried wasnít recognized by the 360 when pressing the circle of light button on the controller.  It would just blink until I took the batteries out.  I finally connected it with the play and charge kit and it worked fine from then on.  However, this controller is having trouble with the D pad as well.  In the down direction.  Itís not as bad as the first, but I think Iíll still trade it in for another.  I have two on order from Costco.com, so Iíll just swap them out.  Unless this is how everyoneís controllers are working?

Finally, I have Media Connect set up and can share my photos fine but I canít see my music folders on the 360.  I have everything in iTunes and have ripped about 98% of the music and purchased maybe 2% from iTunes, if even that.  I have copied some tunes to a USB flash drive and plugged it into the 360 and the music plays fine from there.  I did download the iPod support file from the Live Marketplace.  I have selected the iTunes folder for sharing in Media Connect on my XP PC.  Anyone having similar trouble or have any ideas?

Many people throughout the internet are saying the same.   I think it only supports AAC through the USB port, not throw Media Connect.   Not sure about Windows Media Center Edition.

Picked up the Live Starter kit and redeemed everything. However it now tells me I'm now subscribed through 11/2007. Since the $50 renewal charge isn't posted to my credit card I think they may adjust that.

FYI - If you are able to stream your pics off your PC or a USB device, etc, you can set any pic you have as wallpaper/background for your custom theme. When looking at the thumbnails, just press X to set current pic to background. It immediately shows up, and is then in the themes listing for the currently active profile.

Does it copy it to the 360 so that it is always available regardless of PC/USB connectivity?

That was my fear.  Hopefully they can patch Media Connect to fix this.  It's nice to be able to hook up my iPod, but with all my music on the computer already it would just make things easier.  At least I have a 1 GB flash drive I can pretty much just leave plugged into the 360.

I tried an unprotected AAC through USB, and it did not work...hmm.

5.1 surround MP3 does not play, though the 360 does list the tag info.
I got lossless stereo WMA and 5.1 surround WMA to play via USB, but they stutter horribly!
Playing the 5.1 surround WMA via Media Connect does not stutter but is collapsed to stereo (by the PC I suspect).
The lossless stereo WMA does play via Media Connect (again, I think the PC is at play here).

I have heard before that stereo audio is decoded on the PC by Media Connect or MCE and passed through to the extender as lossless PCM.

Regardless, I cannot figure a way to play any kind of surround 5.1 music (other than DVD) on the system.

It adds unprotected AAC support.

I found it.   Well, Matt talked me through it.

Later I'm going to try 5.1 surround AAC, but I'm not holding my breath.

WTF, I installed the iPod/AAC thing, but my system still won't read AAC through USB (it does read MP3 and WMA this way).

Are iPods the only USB devices that are supported this way?   If so, crazy!

Has anybody tried a thumbdrive or other (non-iPod) USB storage device with AAC on 360?

Dude,  I told you tonight that I have a USB 1 GB flash drive plugged into the 360 with AAC files on it.  So yeah, it works just fine.  I haven't even tried my iPod yet.

I listened to music for over an hour last night (while playing with the Neon lightshow's interactive capabilities), and the 360 was very quiet throughout.   If it can stay this quiet for movie and music use, I have to revise my previous statements and say that it would be acceptable for many home theater enthusiasts.   It was no louder than many Tivos and DVRs that I have heard.

During gameplay, it is by far the loudest component I own, though.   Though I tend to not notice during gameplay unless I stop to think about it.

I'm still getting strange results.   Not only are AAC files not showing up, but huge WMAs (entire albums ripped into a single track to avoid the gapless problem) do not while huge MP3s do.

Gapless problem?   Yeah, like the iPod, the 360 puts gaps between songs, which really busts my mojo when listening to Pink Floyd and such.   They even put a tiny gap between songs when playing CDs, which is odd.

Hopefully we get some downloadable updates to address some of this strangeness.   These are all 'bonus' features not related to gameplay, so it's not a big deal but it'd be nice to see them fixed.
