I am not really a big fan of the new Xbox website.

I think it may just be because it is new, though.

Xbox Live Gold Family Pack sounds interesting. Four gold memberships for less than the price of two? I'm guessing they will restrict the memberships to one console, but that would work for many households. I am interested to hear more on this.

I actually like the revamped website a whole lot better than what they had before.

I read that Family Gold accounts can be set up on one console, recovered and used on separate consoles as long as they are in the same country :o

Allen and I chatted last night and I thought it sounded worse - certainly no better than before the update.  His voice was distant and tinny (yes, I know).  Huge disappointment based on what I had read and was expecting.

Fuck you, Microsoft.

Xbox.com has updated, so it's likely the new Dashboard will be online sometime soon. You can turn off auto-renewal.

The preview dashboard just became available earlier today as well. I was able to get into the beta about a month ago.

HBO Go coming to 360 on April 1.

Quote from: Engadget
HBO has slowly been bringing HBO Go to a multitude of connected platforms, from Roku boxes to some Samsung connected TVs, and now we finally know when it'll come to the Xbox 360. Tonight at an HBO event in San Francisco, company Co-President, Eric Kessler, gave us the good news that Microsoft's console will be getting the streaming service on April 1st. It'll make its debut alongside the premiere of season two of Game of Thrones, so you'll finally be able to jump straight from the hills of Tamriel to the fields of Winterfell with the greatest of ease.

You need to be an HBO subscriber, but it's a fantastic way to catch up on their series.

If this holds true, my house will become a Sony console house.

I don't want to buy a game and have to be connected to the internet to play it, unless it is an online game.

My personal speculation is that it will end up being much closer to Steam in application. Connection required to start the game, but no constant monitor, unless online specific services are being used by the game. If that were the case, I wouldn't think twice about picking up the Durango.

However, if Microsoft admits the situation is as Kotaku describes, then I'd need a lot more information before making the purchase (what will games cost, will I be able to trade/sell games, will there be a healthy amount of sales on content, what happens to my current library of LIVE Arcade games, etc...)

I remember when PSN was down for 24 days.  I could see Anonymous going after XBL.  I don't buy consoles to depend on connectivity outside of my house to be able to play regular old singler player games like Bioshock Inifinite, Alan Wake, et al.

If this thing needs to 'phone home' more than every week or two at the most, count me out.
